—————————————————–

Other Weapons is not a press or publishing house. We are a disperse group of Sex Workers in search of others to expand the position of Sex Workers against work. We are motivated to grow this network and connect our experiences in a world that attempts to make it impossible for us to communicate. We do not operate with a model of prizes, set stipends, or reading periods with judges like one may experience with independent publishers.

Other Weapons brings in money by selling merchandise and books. All the money we generate is distributed to autonomous sex worker organizing, various cashapps, bail funds, commissaries, and directly to sex workers in cash. Groups we have sent money to include Whose Corner is it Anyway, Answer Detroit, Bimbos, Cleveland SW fund, GLITS, CDMX street worker solidarity group, Lysistrata, Black and Pink, and SWOP behind bars. We address use and allocation of money with the specifics of each project. When sold in our store upon publication, we give the money generated beyond the cost of printing to the author directly. If it is not something that will be sold, or the author wants their work to be available online for free, we work with the author or artist to provide money based on what what they need to be supported in their work.

We hope that those who give us the gift of sharing their work understand themselves to be part of our project, and not subject to it. Our online archive and inventory is merely a physical manifestation of our efforts and desires. We believe it is essential to further encourage the continuation of our thinking together. This is a signal fire to call in others with which we wish to conspire. Write to us anytime.
